Joined the governors in 2007
Reasons for becoming a governor – teaching in a Special School for students 11-19 with complex learning difficulties including behaviour and Autism, she wanted a full picture of SEN by being involved in a SEMH specialist school. There are overlaps with the two kinds of school and often the SEMH students become forgotten.
Background information – Previous worked in Radio in advertising and marketing. A Secondary trained teacher since 1996 and taught in SEN in since 1998, including the role of SENCO in a large Comprehensive. Taught classes from reception to year 14 and GCSE and A level History.
Qualified at Postgraduate level in Autism and Speech and language therapy. Published Author 2012.
