As a school we are involved in a number of charity events throughout the year. Doing something to help others is beneficial for our own personal and social development and our sense of well-being.

In September we always host a Macmillan Coffee Morning. A group of pupils help make the cakes and serve these and drinks to other pupils, staff and visitors. The cakes are often unusual and interesting and are a good time for pupils to show off their baking skills.

In November we usually have an event to raise money for Children in Need.

In the spring we alternate between Comic Relief and Sport Relief with an event with either a comedy or sporting focus.

In Autumn 2018 we decided that it would be a great idea to back a charity where we had a clear idea of exactly how our fundraising was being spent. After some research and careful consideration we chose Toilet Twinning. By donating £60 to twin a toilet, we can help fund a project in a poor community that will enable families to build a basic toilet, have access to clean water and learn about hygiene – a vital combination that saves lives. By the end of November 2018 we have already raised enough to twin with three toilets. The project in school is being coordinated by 10B as part of their Culture programme.
