Joined the governors in June 2008 until Feb 2017 then rejoined Sept 2018
Reasons for becoming a governor – Having spent 35 years as a Chartered Civil Engineer working in Construction all over the British Isles as well as spending six and half years abroad in Oman, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia he retired and returned to the north-east in 2008. He has always had a keen interest in the community and retirement has given him time to devote more to community life.
Background information – Board member with the Institution of Civil Engineers and Trustee of its Benevolent Fund. Justice of the Peace on the bench of the Durham and Darlington Local Justice Area, a Parish Councillor in Framwellgate Moor and a recently appointed Trustee of the Excel Academy in Framwellgate Moor. Board Member of Durham Area Action Partnership. Involvement with two Children’s Panels dealing with adoption and fostering matters.
