At Elemore we have renamed anti-bullying week Marra week. The idea is that our students are good Marras to each other, performing acts of help and kindness. This year the focus has been on mental health. We sold badges for the MIND mental health charity and also each student won a green Marra week t-shirt for performing an act of MARRASHIP.
One of our former students, Jamie McKitten, tragically died in April. When he was at Elemore he was a champion for the Toilet Twinning charity, who provide toilets to communities in some of the world’s poorer regions. In memory of Jamie, Class 8A following an idea by Sam Hornsby, have baked 300 POO biscuits and sold them around the other classes.
The money that we have raised is to be shared between the MIND and Toilet Twinning charities.
