Support for Emotional & Social Development

Elemore Hall is a specialist provision for supporting the education of secondary aged pupils who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. All of what we do is geared to providing support in these areas.

All of the staff employed at the school were appointed to the school understanding the nature of the pupil population, this has helped to ensure that the staff team is strong and committed.

The systems that we have in place combine aspects of different theoretical models to provide the best possible range of supportive frameworks. We have some systems that are behaviourist in that we reward pupils for positive behaviour or work, we also have systems that are more constructivist, humanist or relationship based. Together they form an approach where the intention is for pupils to move from needing short term, tangible rewards for demonstrating appropriate behaviour to wanting to achieve objectives for the sake of achieveing and being self motivated.
